Clean sweep for Jake Hill in strong Super Touring field at Brands Hatch

BTCC driver Jake Hill won four out of four races in the Laser Tools Super Tourers Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend, featuring a strong field of 20 cars.

The entry list included legendary Super Touring stars such as Paul Radisich (Ford Mondeo), Anthony Reid (Nissan Primera), Greg Murphy (Nissan Primera) and Steven Richards (Volvo S40).

It was however Honda Accord driver Steward Whyte who claimed pole position at the GP layout of Brands Hatch, lapping the circuit in 1:35.045 to beat Hill by 0.118 seconds to pole.

Nissan driver Reid was a distant third, 0.864 from pole while Mazda 323 driver James Kellett claimed fourth, a massive 1.854 seconds adrift.

Hill and Whyte were in a class of their own for the first three races, claiming first and second, while former BTCC driver Jason Hughes snatched second ahead of Reid in the fourth and final race.

Richards’ best result was a pair of fourth places, Murphy was sixth in Race 3 and Radisich seventh in Race 4.

The weekend also saw demonstration runs with the iconic 1997 specification Renault Laguna of Alain Menu, who attended the race as a guest, and Steve Soper at the wheel for a Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500.
