Jake Hill doubles up with second win

Jake Hill made it two wins from two with victory in the second BTCC race of the weekend at Oulton Park.

Hill started from pole after his earlier win in race one and made the best start to lead the field into Old Hall for the first time, with Ash Sutton forced to defend to keep rival Tom Ingram behind.

As in race one, Hill had to manage his tyres through the early laps but was then able to ease away from Sutton for a relatively straight-forward second win of the weekend, with Sutton and Ingram again following home as the same three drivers filled out the podium.

Ricky Collard held fourth early on but the Speedworks driver would tumble down the order, with Colin Turkington taking the place from him at turn one on lap eleven – a lap after the BMW man had pulled a similar move on Dan Cammish.

When Cammish then tried to get ahead of Collard on 13, the Toyota was run wide and also slipped behind Josh Cook and Dan Lloyd – with Cook later clearing Cammish to finish the race in fifth spot.

Adam Morgan was next to pass the Toyota and when Lloyd made an error at Hislops and ran wide, Morgan grabbed P7 and the reverse grid pole for race three.

Lloyd and Collard followed behind, with the top ten rounded out by Rory Butcher.

Bobby Thompson was the most high-profile retirement, pitting with collapsed suspension after earlier having a trip off track after contact from Cook, whilst Will Powell would bring out an early Safety Car period with an off at Cascades.
