Will Brown out of Winton round due to US travel
Will Brown, who is placed 14th overall, will miss the upcoming TCR Australia round at Winton Motor Raceway due to a trip to the US.
The Melbourne Performance Centre driver will travel to the US with his Supercars team Erebus Motorsport in “a fact-finding mission to a NASCAR race in St Louis”.
‘I am excited to head to America to expand my racing knowledge and gain insights into the teams and drivers, and how they prepare and run for race weekends,” said Brown.
“It is disappointing to miss the Winton round of TCR, and I will be back for the remaining four rounds of the season to gain as many points as possible to boost my World TCR ranking.”
The decision is backed by main sponsor Liqui Moly and the Audi driver will be back for the fourth round at Queensland Raceway in August.
“We went into this partnership with Will, knowing any Supercars commitments would come before TCR. We got through last season without any clashes, but these things happen when you have someone as talented as Will on your team,” said Belinda Narbey, Head of Partnerships at Liqui Moly.”
“Troy (Russell) and the Melbourne Performance Centre team are working hard to get the car right after the issues that have plagued us for the first two rounds of the year.
Brown is currently placed 14th and last overall following a disastrous start to the season with two non-starts and two retirements.
