South American champions to join TCR Italy field

Fabricio Pezzini and Fabio Casagrande will both appear in TCR Italy later this season on the back of their success in TCR South America last season.

Casagrande will race in the Monza event on September 15/17 having clinched the Copa Trophy, while overall champion Pezzini will compete in the season finale at Imola on October 27/29.

Both drivers will be at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type R being run by the MM Motorsport team.

“I’m really proud for the opportunity to race in TCR Italy, and at Imola – which is a legendary circuit,” Pezzini said. “I hope I will be able to make a good work and show the potential of South American motorsport,” said Pezzini.

“To race in TCR Italy, where there is such a big field, and in the temple of speed at Monza, make me count the hours for this to happen!” Casagrande added. “I’m really thrilled!”

TCR South America will once again offer a European appearance in 2024 to the 2023 Drivers’ champion, while the winner of the Copa Trophy will be rewarded with a full-season entry in the 2024 TCR Brazil.
