Ex-Dynamics man Barry Plowman to head Team HARD engineering team

Team HARD has announced that it has signed leading engineer Barry Plowman for the 2023 season to oversee its multi-car assault on the British Touring Car Championship.

Plowman is widely regarded as one of the most experienced engineers in the series thanks to a long career with Team Dynamics, during which he was his was a key part of the success enjoyed on track by the Honda squad as it won multiple championship titles with Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden.

After the announcement that Dynamics wouldn’t be part of the grid this year, Plowman has now been snapped up by Team HARD in the role of lead engineer – charged with helping development of the Cupra Leon during the year ahead.

“I am thrilled to be joining Team HARD Racing for the 2023 season,” he said. “This is a team with a lot of potential, and I am excited to be able to contribute to their success.

“I am looking forward to working with the team and helping them achieve their goals.”

Team HARD boss Tony Gilham was delighted to bring in a figure with decades of experience at the top of the sport.

“We are thrilled to have Barry Plowman on board for the 2023 season,” he said. “He is a true legend in the BTCC, and his experience and expertise will be invaluable to our team. We are confident that he will help us take our performance to the next level.”
