Didrik Esbjug joins 2023 TCR Denmark opener grid
Didrik Esbjug is going to join the 2023 TCR Denmark series grid for the Jyllandsringen season opener, racing the Honda Civic Type R TCR he took to tenth position overall in TCR Scandinavia last year.
“I’m really looking forward to it. We haven’t decided yet on whether we will drive more races after Jyllandsringen. It would be great to drive the full season, but we have to consider the fact that we have regular jobs outside of motorsport,” said Esbjug to TouringCarTimes.
The Norwegian made his TCR debut last year, claiming a fourth place finish at Gelleråsen as his best individual TCR Scandinavia result, and finished 13th in the FIA Motorsport Games touring car category.
The 21-year-old is going to race for his family team Esbjug Motorsport, headed by his father Kim Esbjug, a former STCC privateers’ champion.
Didrik Esbjug took part in a TCR Denmark pre-season test at Jyllandsringen last week alongside fellow Norwegian driver Marius Solberg Hansen, who also makes the move from the now defunct TCR Scandinavia championship to TCR Denmark for 2023.
