TCR Italy champion Niels Langeveld makes Honda switch for 2023

Reigning TCR Italy champion Niels Langeveld will switch from Hyundai to Honda for this title defense this season, joining MM Motorsport.

“When you win the championship in one of the most competitive series of touring car racing, you naturally have high hopes for a strong offer,” said Langeveld.

“We had the intention to continue with Hyundai, but unfortunately the negotiations failed. Nevertheless, I look back on our time together with a positive feeling. It was a great adventure.”

The Dutchman drove a Hyundai Elantra N TCR for Target Competition last year, scoring four victories.

Langeveld will drive the new generation Civic Type R TCR this year.

“JAS and MM Motorsport were very determined from the beginning, and the package they offered looks pretty promising: I get to drive a brand new car for a great team! I’m incredibly grateful to them for giving me this opportunity and I’m extremely motivated to remain the number one,” said Langeveld.
