Seven date TCR Australia calendar confirmed
The TCR Australia series organisation has revealed its 2023 calendar, with seven rounds set to take place between February and November.
With a number of events having been revealed prior to Christmas when the SpeedSeries schedule was announced, the main headline is the return of Winton Motor Raceway to the calendar for the first time since the inaugural TCR Australia season in 2019.
“This is great news that we will have TCR Australia back at Winton in 2023,” said Liam Curkpatrick, CEO of the Australian Racing Group.
“The circuit is perfectly suited to the TCR cars, and just like we saw in 2019, it offers plenty of action and close racing.
“Our focus is now firmly on the opening round at Symmons Plains with some really great news for the category coming through in the coming weeks.”
The 2023 TCR Australia season will start in just over two weeks’ time at Symmons Plains, before the series heads into a break of over two months prior to the trip to Phillip Island in May.
After meetings ast Winton Motor Raceway and Sydney Motorsport Park in June, events are planned at Queensland Raceway and Sandown, before the season draws to a close at Mount Panorama with the second running of the Bathurst International.
The Bathurst date is set to be the penultimate round for the new TCR World Tour, and the second of two events held on Australia soil.
With the first Australia World Tour round locked in for November 3-5, a new date for one of the existing TCR Australia events will be released in due course.
