Honda alone in receiving compensation weight for the Nürburgring

The Honda drivers of Münnich Motorsport and Engstler Motorsport will be alone in running compensation weight for the FIA World Touring Car Cup races at the Nürburgring Nordschleife next weekend.

The strong pace of the Honda drivers during the Pau-Ville opener, with Néstor Girolami claiming pole, victory in Race 1 and the championship lead, means that the Japanese model will carry the maximum of 40 kilo compensation weight in Germany.

All other models will run with 0kg of compensation weight as in the Pau-Ville season opener.

The compensation weights have been changed for 2022, with the maximum weight being reduced from 60kg to 40kg and the best qualifying lap times from the two previous events will be used for the calculations, instead of the average of the best two lap times from three events as in 2021.
