Jake Hill loses race one podium

Jake Hill has been stripped of his podium in the opening round of the new BTCC season after his car failed post-race ride-height checks.

Hill had finished third on the road behind Tom Ingram and Colin Turkington after a dramatic race but now faces a battle to work his way through the order from the back of the field in race two.

“It’s disappointing but we’ll bounce back as the car is rapid,” he said. “To get pole yesterday was great and it’s a shame we couldn’t convert it into a win in that one.”

The exclusion means Gordon Shedden inherits third place in his Team Dynamics-run Honda.
