Target Competition confirms Files, Baldan and Jelmini for 2022

Target Competition has confirmed the signing of Josh Files, Nicola Baldan and Felice Jelmini for the 2022 TCR Europe season.

Files returns to the team that carried him to the 2019 title as he rejoins the grid, whilst Baldan makes the move over from TCR Italy – where he raced in Target colours last year.

“I’m super happy to be part of this year’s TCR Europe programme with Hyundai and even happier that I’m back with Target, a team I’ve had a lot of success with,” Files said.

“This year we will be pushing as hard as we can for the title and I can’t wait to start things off in Portugal in a few weeks’ time.”

Jelmini meanwhile joins Target from Sébastien Loeb Racing, where he scored two podium finishes last season.

All three will be at the wheel Hyundai’s Elantra N TCR model.

“I’m really happy to take part again in the TCR Europe next season,” Jelmini said. “This year I’m proud to be part of the Target Competition, which is one of the most successful teams in touring car racing in the recent years, winning several titles in the TCR Europe.

“I want to thank team manager Andreas Gummerer, the whole team and especially Hyundai Motorsport that will support me again this year. We had the opportunity to do a lot of tests where I had incredible sensations and feedback from the Hyundai Elantra N TCR. On our part, we have all our papers in order to be contenders.”
