Jade Edwards retains BTC Racing seat
Jade Edwards will remain on the grid for a second full season in 2022 after being confirmed as the first member of BTC Racing’s three-car line-up.
Edwards joined the Honda team last year on the back of a one-off outing in the series with Power Maxed Racing in 2020 and became the first female driver to score points in the series since 2006 at Snetterton.
“I can’t wait for my second full season in the BTCC and I’ll be aiming to build on everything I’ve learnt,” she said.
“I’m not there to make up the numbers and I intend on proving that from the outset. I can’t thank Steve enough for his continued support and for putting his faith in me once again.”
New team manager Danny Buxton said he was pleased to see Edwards retained for a second year, and backed her to be a success on track.
“Whilst I’m new to the team, I’ve known and worked with Jade for many years now, so I’m fully aware of her ability on track,” he said.
“My job is to ensure that Jade maximises her performance potential each and every time she’s in the car. If executed correctly, she’ll do an outstanding job.”
