Capture Motorsport joins grid with Jack Depper
Capture Motorsport will join the TCR UK grid this season after agreeing a deal with VW Cup graduate Jack Depper.
Depper, the son of former BTCC racer Martin, will race a Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR with support from Dirt Devil as he returns to the grid for a full campaign on the back of a part season in the series last year.
Having taken four wins from seven in the VW Cup to lead the championship standings, Depper moved over to TCR UK from round four at Oulton Park, and would take a best finish of sixth at the wheel of a VW run by Maximum Motorsport.
“Whilst I’m familiar with the car and the venues we’ll be visiting, I’ll be racing with a new team this year,” he said. “The main goal is to build on the experience I gained last year, having secured the Volkswagen Racing Cup title and then going on to compete in the remaining seven TCR races.
“Looking at the number and the quality of drivers entering this year, it’s certainly going to be a challenge to be at the sharp end. But after a number of successful tests, I’m confident in my team and car, so I can’t wait to see how it all plays out at Oulton Park in April. Full commitment and full send for 2022!”
Whilst Cheshire-based Capture Motorsport will be new to the TCR UK field, the team has previously been running a range of TCR-spec cars in other series, including Britcar.
