Teenager Carlo Tamburini secures TCR Italy slot

Teenage racer Carlo Tamburini has confirmed that he will make the step up to the TCR Italy championship for the 2022 season.

The 17-year-old appeared on track in the final round of the 2021 Coppa Italia at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type R, securing an impressive double win at Monza.

Tamburini will now continue with the Honda – being run by MM Motorsport – as he graduates to TCR Italy, with hopes high of a successful season on track.

“I’m training like crazy! Gym, simulator and track test every time it is possible,” he said.

“Monza last year was a great first step, but I’m aware that TCR Italy is a more competitive series. I’ve got a lot to learn, but I’m sure I can do well.”
