Lo Sze Ho stripped of second place finish at Macau for “boost fluctuations”
Hyundai driver Lo Sze Ho was stripped of his second place finish in the Macau Guia race after the stewards found irregularities with the turbo boost of his i30 N TCR.
Lo Sze Ho finished 1.897 seconds behind race winner Jason Zhang and the penalty elevates Zhang’s Teamwork Motorsport team-mate Ma Qing Hua to second place, making it a Lynk & Co 03 TCR 1-2, with Yan Xiao Wei elevated to third place.
The stewards decision read:
“Car no.28 turbo boost has fluctuations, the car may gain advantage from that. Car no.28 is disqualified from the final classification of Race 2.”
Also penalised after the race was Volkswagen driver Yan Chuang, who had 15 seconds added to his race time for “causing an avoidable collision”, dropping from sixth to eighth position.
