Néstor Girolami loses podium finish after time penalty
Münnich Motorsport’s Néstor Girolami (Honda Civic Type R TCR) has lost his second place finish from Race 2 at the Hungaroring after receiving a penalty.
The Argentinian driver was found responsible for the incident that sent BRC Motorsport’s Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai Elantra N TCR) into a spin at the start of the race, with Girolami receiving a five-second time penalty.
This drops Girolami to fifth place in the race, with Comtoyou Racing’s Frédéric Vervisch (Audi RS 3 LMS) promoted to second place and Zengo Motorsport’s Mikel Azcona (Cupra Leon Competición) to third place.
Cyan Racing’s Yann Ehrlacher is promoted to fourth position, taking the lead in the drivers’ championship ahead of Lynk & Co colleague Santiago Urrutia.
