Esteban Guerrieri penalised for “inappropriate language” about a competitor
Esteban Guerrieri has been penalised for using “inappropriate language” about a competitor during the FIA World Touring Car Cup qualifying at MotorLand Aragón.
The penalty has been decided to be one day of free public service for the Honda driver – to be served before the end of the season, a service that is yet to be defined.
The decision of the stewards read:
“Driver of Car #86 used inappropriate language, regarding another driver, via radio communication with his engineer. This communication was later broadcasted.”
“Having considered the matter extensively, the Stewards determine that the Driver’s behaviour was damaging to the image of the WTCR. This decision has been taken in accordance with Articles 11.9.3 and 12.3 of the FIA International Sporting Code.”
Guerrieri reportedly talked about the Hyundai drivers during the reported radio communication.
