Tony D’Alberto secures DJR co-driver role
Tony D’Alberto is to return to Dick Johnson Racing in a co-driver role for a sixth successive Supercars Championship season.
The 35-year-old first lined up alongside Scott Pye for the enduro events back in 2016 and spent the last four seasons running alongside Fabian Coulthard – with the pair taking a third place finish at Bathurst back in 2017.
Despite the split with Penske over the winter, and the fact that the Ford team has brought in a completely new driver line-up for the 2021 campaign, D’Alberto will remain in place for the Bathurst 1000.
The TCR Australia front-runner is likely to partner Anton De Pasquale, with Scott McLaughlin due to make a return for the biggest race on the calendar alongside Will Davison.
However, that move will be dependent on the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, with the multiple champion now based in the USA with his IndyCar programme.
