Kristian Moe Sætheren returns with Insight Racing

Kristian Moe Sætheren will return to TCR Denmark for the 2021 season after agreeing a new deal with the Insight Racing team.

The Norwegian driver was due to compete in the inaugural campaign at the wheel of one of the team’s Alfa Romeo Giuliettas, but travel restrictions in place as a result of COVID-19 meant he was only able to race at two of the five events on the rescheduled calendar – taking a best finish of fifth.

Sætheren will once again partner Jakob Mathiassen in the Insight line-up.

“I am really looking forward to this,” he said. “I hope the situation with the pandemic will improve, as my 2020 season was pretty affected due to travel restrictions and quarantines,” Sætheren said. “I am so happy to continue with Insight Racing. I know everyone well and we have done so many great races. I’m glad we can continue what we have started, rather than kicking off something new.

“I have positive feelings, and I’m sure we can make something great of it. I hope to fight for the points this year and get a spot on the podium. From what we saw in last year’s final race weekend, the pace was there, and I felt great. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was able to keep that sort of pace, despite having been almost out of the game all summer long. We’ll see what we can make of it!”
