Rob Huff joins MG for Macau season finale

Newly crowned STCC TCR Scandinavia champion and Macau expert Rob Huff is going to join MG for the TCR China championship season finale at the legendary Macanese street circuit.

Huff, who has won at Macau nine times, is going to join team-mates Rodolfo Ávila and Zhang Zheng Dong in their fight for the 2020 TCR China title.

The Brit is the sole foreign driver in the race and must complete a two-week quarantine before the race.

“It’s been quite a year. I’m very lucky to be able to take part in this year’s Macau Guia Race, and it’s great to be racing with the MG XPOWER team – a lot of the team I know from my time in the CTCC over these last few years,” said Huff.

“This is a new car for me, I’ve never driven the MG 6 TCR car before; although that was the plan originally this year – so the first time I’ll have ever driven it, will be around the streets of Macau in the first practice session, which will be an exciting way to be introduced. I have been involved in the development of the car, and know it’s got great potential.

“In the race this year we’ll have some pretty tough competition. Just because there won’t be many of the guys from the world championship this time, there are many super-fast local racers taking part as well, and they have a championship to fight for, while my objective is simple, to win again at Macau.”

Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport driver Ma Qing Hua is leading the TCR China championship, but just eight points ahead of MG driver Ávila.

A total of 36 cars have been entered for the Macau season finale that takes place on November 19-22.
