Jean-Karl Vernay stripped of Race 3 podium following penalty
Jean-Karl Vernay has been penalised for two separate incidents in Race 2 and 3 of the World Touring Car Cup weekend at the Slovakiaring.
The Team Mulsanne driver was handed a 10-second penalty and two penalty points for colliding with Yvan Muller in the second race, dropping him from fourth to 14th position.
Vernay was also given a 5-second penalty and one penalty point for colliding with Norbert Michelisz on the opening lap of Race 3, dropping him from second to fourth.
The penalty elevates Comtoyou Racing drivers Nathanaël Berthon and Gilles Magnus to second and third positions in the third race.
Vernay was not penalised for the incident with Néstor Girolami in the second race.
