Robin Frijns again quickest in second practice at Zolder

Robin Frijns backed up his morning form by setting the fastest time in the second DTM practiced session of the Zolder weekend.

The Audi Abt Sportsline driver posted a best time of 1:19.926, beating Team Phoenix’s Loïc Duval by a mere five-thousandths of a second.

The 30-minute session began in fully dry conditions after a damp opening session this morning.

Defending champion René Rast headed the way at first, with a time of 1:20.745 as the initial representative effort.

He was soon beaten by Müller by one-hundredth of a second before both were eclipsed by the Team Rosberg Audi of Jamie Green.

Müller returned to the top of the standings as a flurry of quick times came in inside the remaining 20 minutes.

Frijns then set his best time, ahead of Duval, with Rast, just nine-hundredths back from the Dutchman.

Müller ended up fourth quickest ahead of the best of the BMWs in Timo Glock.

The Team RMG driver was one of three BMWs in the top 10, with Marco Wittmann (ninth) and Sheldon van der Linde (10th) the other two.

All in all, it was another Audi dominated affair, with Ferdinand Habsburg setting the seventh fastest time in his WRT machine.

Green finished eighth quickest, just two-tenths of a second off the pace.

Next up for the DTM field is qualifying one which is scheduled to start at 08:30 tomorrow morning.
