Tobias Brink: “A newborn baby, two wins and triple points lead”
Tobias Brink secured two wins as well as the championship lead in the penultimate STCC TCR Scandinavia round and is currently on his way home to a newborn daughter.
“I’ve just become a father, we got two wins and the lead of all three championship. It has been an unbelievable weekend,” said Tobias Brink.
The Brink Motorsport driver was unchallenged in qualifying and the first two races, fighting his way to fifth from eighth on the grid in the final race.
Brink heads the drivers’ championship on 153 points ahead of the season finale next weekend, 14 points ahead of Rob Huff and 17 points ahead of Robert Dahlgren.
Brink Motorsport is 14 points ahead of Lestrup Racing Team in the teams’ championship, with Hannes Morin, who claimed his maiden STCC win in the third race, heading the junior championship.
But the dominating performance comes with a cost ahead of the Knutstorp finale as Brink is going to carry 60kg of compensation weight, compared to his main title rivals that will carry next to none.
“Knutstorp is obviously going to be a challenge but we are going to fight hard and we’ve performed well with a lot of weight in the past as well,” said Brink.
