Rob Huff: “We knew Audi would be super strong here”
Rob Huff qualified second for the first STCC TCR Scandinavia race of the weekend at Mantorp Park behind Audi title rival Tobias Brink.
“I am really pleased, we knew the Audi would be super strong here,” said Huff.
“But we know we’ve got, as always with the Volkswagen, a great race car. One that lasts really well, uses its tyres really economically in the race.”
Lestrup Racing Team team-mates Huff and Oliver Söderström claimed positions two and three in both qualifying sessions, with positions swapped in the second session when Söderström was second fastest and Huff third.
“It’s great to be on the front row for race one and to be there together with Oliver,” said Huff.
“We’re pretty much the only team that has two team-mates with very similar speed that can work together. I’m excited for the weekend.”
Several drivers have commented on the changed grip conditions compared to when the official mid-season test was held at Mantorp Park last month.
“The track was really different to when we were here three weeks ago testing, it was a little bit strange to get used to, it was much more slippery,” said Huff.
