Petr Fulín joins Slovakiaring grid as wild card
Petr Fulín is going to join the World Touring Car Cup grid at Slovakiaring on October 10-11 as a wild card, driving a Cupra León Competición.
The Czech driver last raced in the 2018 WTCR round at Slovakiaring, finishing fifth in one of the races.
“The reason why I will rejoin the series after two years is due to several factors,” said Fulín.
“First of all, I got the opportunity from the FIA to enter as a wild card. Also the new Goodyear tires, which do not degrade so much, the new car and also my two-year absence in the prestigious championship, all this made me finally accept the offer.”
The 43-year-old claimed the 2017 FIA European Touring Car Cup title and will drive for his own team Fullín Race Academy at Slovakiaring.
Fullín Race Academy is fielding two Cupras in the TCR Eastern Europe Trophy for drivers Petr Čížek and Carol Wittke this season.
