Jamie Green leads first Nürburgring sprint practice
Jamie Green headed the first free practice session of the Nürburgring sprint DTM weekend, lapping the shorter version of the circuit in 1:20.052.
The Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver was 0.217 seconds faster than BMW driver Sheldon van der Linde. And the South African headed two manufacturer colleagues, with Marco Wittmann in fourth and Philipp Eng in fifth.
ABT Sportsline team-mates Robin Frijns and Nico Müller claimed positions five and six, 0.518 and 0.606 seconds from the top time respectively.
Reigning champion René Rast was seventh as Mike Rockenfeller rounded off the top eight for Team Phoenix, close to eight tenths from Green’s top time, setting an identical lap time as Jonathan Aberdein.
The second free practice session starts at 16:30 CEST.
