Andreas and Jessica Bäckman joins TCR Germany races at Nürburgring

Andreas and Jessica Bäckman will join the TCR Germany championship races at the Nürburgring this weekend in preparation for their TCR Europe programme.

“I’m looking forward to race again after the long break, and it is extra fun to be back and join TCR Germany again. In addition, it is a perfect preparation for next weekend when our main series TCR Europe kicks off in France,” said Jessica Bäckman.

The siblings will just as last year drive their Target Competition-prepared pair of Hyundai i30 N TCR race cars.

“It will be exciting to be back and compete in TCR Germany again,” said Andreas Bäckman.

“It’s a series that is ranked high and has a high standard of drivers, so it will not be easy, but it feels good to get back out on the racetracks and to compete again. It will also be a good preparation for next weekend when we are back in TCR Europe after the long break.”

The duo made a one-off appearance in the TCR Germany races at Hockenheim last year, with Jessica finishing second in the second race.
