René Rast fastest in morning session of final Nürburgring test day
Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver René Rast set the fastest lap time in the Thursday morning session at the Nürburgring, ahead of BMW Motorsport drivers Timo Glock and Jonathan Aberdein.
The reigning champion clocked a best lap of 1:19.028, with the Team RMG driver 0.165 seconds behind and Team RBM driver two-tenths off the pace.
Mike Rockenfeller and Robin Frijns were next for Audi, with the Dutch driver three-tenths behind Rast, with ART Grand Prix’s Robert Kubica in sixth position, 0.465 from the top time.
Lucas Auer finished seventh, six-tenths off the pace, with Harrison Newey at the wheel of an Audi RS 5 DTM next, 0.733 seconds behind Rast.
WRT driver Fabio Scherer closed the classification in ninth position, 1.3 seconds behind.
