Martin Andersen and Kasper H. Jensen top second TCR Denmark test day
Hyundai and Honda machinery set the pace in the second official test day for the TCR Denmark series at FDM Jyllandsringen.
Several teams spent the Wednesday running trying out different set-up options as the championship is set to kick off in a weeks time on the same track.
Martin Andersen and Kasper H. Jensen posted the exact same lap time, 1:09.390s, handing the pair a 0.415s gap to the nearest competitor, Jakob Mathiassen in his Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR.
Fourth came Jan Magnussen in his VW Golf GTI TCR, ahead of LM Racing team-mate Nicolaj Sylvest, with the duo 0.422s and 0.468s respectively behind the fastest pair. Michael Markussen posted a 1:10.216s lap, making him sixth fastest.
Fastest in the Trophy championship for drivers aged above 40 was Kenn Bach, posting a 1:10.529s lap in his Honda Civic Type R TCR. Michael Carlsen took his Peugeot 308TCR around the track in 1:10.816s, only a few hundreds of a second ahead of Kim Lund Johansen, who set a 1:10.844s after a trouble-filled day.
Johnny Vejlebo improved his lap times throughout the day, ending the day with the tenth best lap time in 1:11.328s.
Fresh from F4 racing, Jonas Lindhardt joined the test for his first laps in his VW Golf GTI TCR, spending the most of the day getting to grips with the transition from Formula 4 to TCR racing.
