José Manuel Urcera joins new team Monti Motorsport
Former Citroën and Honda driver José Manuel Urcera has joined the new team Monti Motorsport, started by former Chevrolet YPF technical director Luciano Monti, for the 2020 Super TC 2000 season.
Urcera will drive one of the two independently run Chevrolet Cruze race cars that the team will field. Team founder Monti has previously worked as technical director of the Chevrolet YPF factory operation.
“I’m very happy to start running my own team in the series,” said Monti.
“‘Manu’ is one of the best drivers in the country, so we’ve got what it takes to do well. It will take us some time since this is a new project, but I fully trust my group of people.”
Information to TouringCarTimes pointed out former Chevrolet YPF factory driver Franco Vivian as a potential candidate for the second seat.
The Super TC 2000 organisation will host an online race tomorrow with most of the 2020 grid, following the postponement of the season start that was supposed to take place this weekend.
