Team Engstler sign Antti Buri and Nico Gruber

Team Engstler has signed Antti Buri and Nico Gruber to drive a pair of Hyundai i30 N TCRs in the 2020 TCR Germany championship season.

“I am very happy to race the Hyundai i30 N TCR in ADAC TCR Germany,” said Buri.

“Team Engstler is one of the best in the business and the car is very strong, so it will certainly be a very interesting season. My goal is clearly to win the title.”

Buri was one of the main rivals to Team Engstler in last year’s title fight, driving an Audi RS 3 LMS for LMS Racing to finish third overall behind champion Max Hesse.

The 18-year-old Gruber, who made his touring car debut for Team Engstler in the 2020 TCR Malaysia season, comes from a background of single seaters.

“My goal is to learn as much as possible with the experienced Hyundai Team Engstler and regularly reach the top five and win the rookie title,” said Gruber.

The team is also going to field a VIP car at selected race weekends, just as last year, with the guest drivers to be “announced shortly”.
