European endurance series launched for DSG cars

WSC Group Ltd, the driving force behind TCR, has announced the launch of a new European endurance series for cars running DSG gearboxes.

TCR Europe Series Ltd has been appointed to organise and run the series, which will feature twelve hour long races split across six events.

The TCR DSG Europe Series will award five titles to Drivers, Rookies, Ladies, Teams and Model of the Year.

Volkswagen, Audi and Cupra have all produced TCR cars running DSG gearboxes in the past.

“We believe that the teams and drivers who own DSG cars deserve an opportunity to race them at a European level,” WSC president Marcello Lotti said. “I have discussed this plan with the representatives of the three brands of the Volkswagen Group and they agreed it was a sound idea.”
