Cupra and Honda drop weight for the Sepang season finale
The cars of Cupra and Honda are alone in dropping weight ahead of the World Touring Car Cup season finale at Sepang in Malaysia next weekend.
Based on the average lap times from the previous three race weekends, the Cupra TCRs will drop 20kg of compensation weight and the Honda Civic Type-R FK8 TCRs will drop 10kg.
All other cars remain on the same weights as in the previous race at Macau.
The Lynk & Co 03 TCR is the fastest car on average from the past three races and will remain alone on the maximum compensation weight of 60kg.
The Hyundai i30 N TCRs are closest, one tenth behind on average, and keeps 50kg of compensation weight.
Next up are the Hondas and Volkswagen Golf GTI TCRs, two tenths behind on average, with the Golf GTI TCR remaining on 40kg.
The Alfa Romeo Guilietta TCRs will remain on 30kg, being three tenths slower on average than the Lynk & Cos. The Audi RS 3 LMSs and Cupra TCRs are slowest, five tenths off on average, both carrying 10kg at Sepang.
The total weight, including the Balance of Performance weight, has the Lynk & Cos heaviest of the title contender cars on 1365kg, 30kg more than the Hyundais and 40kg more than the Hondas.
