Monza results declared final following Hyundai ECU investigation
The results of the TCR Europe series season finale at Monza have been declared final following a technical investigation regarding the ECU of champion Josh Files’ Hyundai i30 N TCR.
The report read: “The analysis and electronic controls of the ECU comply with the technical regulations.”
The results and Files’ title remained provisional for over a month as the WSC, the TCR concept promoter, conducted an investigation.
“All the reconfirmation checks have been thoroughly carried out by the TCR technical department,” said Marcello Lotti, the president of the WSC Group.
“From 2020, a new software will be implemented to make the checks faster and more dynamic. This, in parallel with the adoption of the common ECU for the newly-built cars, will help the technical delegates of each different series to immediately check the compliance with the certified maps.”
