Kevin Ceccon stripped of podium finish following post-race penalty
Kevin Ceccon has been stripped of his third place finish in the final World Touring Car Cup race at Suzuka following a five-second penalty.
The stewards handed the Alfa Romeo the penalty and one penalty points for hitting Volkswagen driver Rob Huff at Turn 2 when fighting for eighth place.
The penalty drops Ceccon from third to seventh position, elevating KCMG driver Tiago Monteiro to the final podium spot.
There are however further investigations ongoing, one of them regarding Monteiro who seemed to head for the pits when behind the safety car.
