Massive Motorsport working on multi-car programme for 2020

Massive Motorsport will make its TCR Scandinavia championship debut this weekend at Jyllandsringen with experienced racer and team owner Casper Elgaard as driver. The team is currently working on running a multi-car programme in 2020.

“We are working on being part of the TCR Denmark/Scandinavia next year with two or three cars,” said Elgaard to TouringCarTimes.

Elgaard will drive a Honda Civic Type R FK8 TCR at Jyllandsringen with support from JAS Motorsport, but the team is in talks with further manufacturers for 2020.

“It is too early to say yet. But Honda is one of the options we are looking at,” said Elgaard.

The races at Jyllandsringen will serve as a toe in the water of the TCR category for Massive Motorsport that currently is fielding cars in the silhouette championship DTC. Elgaard is nonetheless hoping to fight for a podium position straight away.

“I am looking forward to try the Honda. It will be my first ever experience with a TCR car, so it is not ideal with no previous experience and that I have not raced since 2016,” said Elgaard.

“But I know the circuit very well and hopefully that will be enough for me to fight for a place on the podium. I know it will not be easy, it is a great championship with some very good drivers.”
