WRC star Thierry Neuville confirmed for Nürburgring
World Rally Championship front-runner Thierry Neuville has been confirmed to drive for Team Engstler in the TCR Germany series round at the Nürburgring on August 16-18th.
“I look forward to this challenge and I think we could make somewhat of a surprise. I hope that I can utilise my experience from the asphalt rallies,” said Neuville.
The 31-year-old is going to drive the VIP Hyundai i30 N TCR of Team Engstler that has been driven by other guest drivers this season such as Jessica Bäckman and most recently the reigning WTCR champion Gabriele Tarquini. The Italian is going to help Neuville during his preparations.
“I have prepared with a couple of test runs at the Nürburgring to get a good feeling for the Hyundai i30 N TCR. I will also get support from Gabriele Tarquini, which has developed the car,” said Neuville.
Neuville is currently placed third in the 2019 WRC, driving for Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT.
