Robert Dahlgren tops the first practice session at Falkenberg
PWR Racing driver Robert Dahlgren led a PWR Racing 1-2 in the first practice session at Falkenberg, leading team-mate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky by three-tenths of a second, while title rivals Brink Motorsport were no better than fifth fastest.
Championship leader Dahlgren was quick to set a benchmark time of 45.655 in the session, at that point just eight-thousandths of a second faster than Åhlin-Kottulinsky, but he found more pace from his Cupra TCR in the last ten minutes of the session to better that time to a 45.331.
There were late improvements in the session by the Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen pair of Tomas Engström and Andreas Ahlberg, with Ahlberg finishing the session third fastest, just under four-tenths of a second from Dahlgren’s time, with Engström just behind him.
Andreas Wernersson, Dahlgren’s closest rival in the title fight, was fifth fastest overall in his Brink Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS, leading his two Audi team-mates Tobias Brink and Hannes Morin.
Albin Wärnelöv was eighth fastest in his Experion Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, with Mattias Andersson ninth in his MA:GP Honda, just over a second behind, with Alex Andersson, making his Scandinavian touring car return this weekend with Brovallen Design, tenth quickest.
The next practice session is scheduled for 13:30 CEST.
