Kevin Ceccon gets ten-place penalty for Vila Real Race 1

Team Mulsanne’s Kevin Ceccon will drop ten places from wherever he qualifies, after the Italian driver picked up his third formal reprimand of the year in practice.

The Alfa Romeo driver has racked up three reprimands in four race weekends, in Hungary, the Netherlands and now Portugal, although his transgression this weekend was crossing the white line in practice. As a result, he is given an automatic grid penalty.

Ceccon had finished the second practice session in 11th, showing improved pace compared to first practice yesterday.

Already confirmed to be at the back of the grid are Volkswagen’s Mehdi Bennani and KCMG Honda driver Attila Tassi, after both drivers have had to change their engines ahead of the weekend.

Johan Kristoffersson has also changed his engine after he crashed out in Germany, but has been deemed as force majuere as he was a bystander in an incident between Lynk & Co’s Yvan Muller and the Hyundai of Nicky Catsburg.
