Robert Dahlgren again unstoppable in second practice at Skellefteå

PWR Racing’s Robert Dahlgren again topped the time sheets in the second of three practice sessions at the 4.2km Skellefteå circuit in northern Sweden, leading the way by 1.6 seconds over title rival Andreas Wernersson’s Audi.

Dahlgren didn’t set a time until just after ten minutes into the 30-minute session in his Skellefteå Kraft-backed Cupra TCR, despite carrying the maximum possible handicap of 60kg compensation weight and 20kg of success ballast.

Wernersson was able to close to within 1.3 seconds of Dahlgren’s time in his Brink Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS, before Dahlgren improved even further, setting a time of 1:54.554, over two seconds clear, and just slightly slower than his first practice time.

Wernersson found more time in his Audi to close to 1.6 seconds behind Dahlgren by the end of the session, while Andreas Ahlberg placed his Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen third, 1.9 seconds down.

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky was fourth in her PWR Racing Cupra TCR, with Tobias Brink and Hannes Morin’s Audis behind her.

Peter ‘Poker’ Wallenberg, who’d missed the first session, placed seventh, 7.2 seconds down in his PWR Racing Cupra TCR, while MA:GP Honda driver Mattias Andersson sat out the session after an engine problem in the first test.

Next up is the final practice at 14:10 CEST, ahead of qualifying at 19:15 this evening.
