Cyan Racing hit with immediate Balance of Performance adjustment

Cyan Racing have had a change to their Balance of Performance imposed by the TCR promoter, WSC, following their top four qualifying performance at Zandvoort.

The team locked out the front two rows, over half a second clear of the rest of the field in qualifying, with Thed Björk securing the manufacturer’s first pole position in his Lynk & Co 03 TCR.

WSC had adjusted the team’s BoP ahead of the race weekend after their struggles in Slovakia, handing them an additional 10kg of ballast, but at the same time allowing them to run at a higher level of 100% engine power.

The adjustment has now been to put the power back to 97.5%, the same as Hyundai, which is effective immediately.

This is the first time the TCR Balance of Performance has been adjusted during a race meeting since Hyundai’s TCR International Series debut at Zhejiang in 2017. At that race, the Hyundais of Gabriele Tarquini and Alain Menu were given full weight and a power reduction following a dominant performance by Tarquini in the first race.
