Volkswagen get 30kg reduction for Zandvoort
The compensation weight has been reduced by 30kg for the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR model ahead of the World Touring Car Cup race weekend at Zandvoort.
The German manufacturer received 60kg for the previous round at Slovakiaring due to the Sébastien Loeb Racing team have switched back to the original ECU, and therefore a change of homologated model.
For Zandvoort, the FIA touring car committee has decided to reduce the 60kg to 30kg with the reason stated to be “adjustment of performance”.
The Volkswagen team had another tough weekend in Slovakia with Rob Huff’s fifth place in the reversed-grid second race as the highlight, starting from pole position.
