Tomas Engström aiming for title with Micke Kågered Racing

Swedish touring car veteran Tomas Engström is aiming for the 2019 TCR Scandinavia title with Micke Kågered Racing.

The 55-year-old drove two races for the team in the 2018 STCC and will for this year drive full season alongside team-mate Andreas Ahlberg.

“I am here to win the championship and we have worked hard during the winter with the car and it feels really good,” said Engström to TouringCarTimes.

“Knutstorp is going to be tough but we are going to do everything it takes to be on top of the podium.”

Engström made his STCC debut in 1999 and claimed his best result in 2003, finishing third overall.

Micke Kågered Racing is going to run two Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR race cars in the 2019 TCR Scandinavia series season for Engström and Ahlberg who finished 12th overall last year.

The season starts this weekend at Knutstorp.
