PRS Motorsport reveal TCR Italy programme
The PRS Motorsport team has announced that it will join the TCR Italy championship for the 2019 season.
The team make the move into the series having previously enjoyed a strong record in both rallying and circuit racing, with four titles in the Alfa Romeo 147 Cup between 2004 and 2007 and one each in the Class N4 of the Italian Touring Car Championship, Citroën Saxo Cup and SEAT León Supercópa.
The team will run an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce and may add a second car during the season.
“We have evaluated different models before choosing the car to run; eventually the Giulietta was the one that impressed us the most,” team boss Oriano Agostini said, “and the fact that we can benefit from a direct relationship with Romeo Ferraris engineering was also a crucial factor.
“We are excited to join TCR Italy, which has proved to be a top-level series, and we haven’t dumped the idea of fielding a second car.”
