Richie Stanaway replaces Garth Tander at Garry Rogers Motorsport
Garry Rogers Motorsport has unveiled a new title sponsor in the form of Boost Mobile and has signed driver Richie Stanaway to replace Garth Tander for the 2019 Supercars Championship season.
”I am excited and thankful to GRM and Boost Mobile for giving me a chance to race in one of the greatest championships in the world,” said Stanaway.
“My approach last year and my attitude which often stemmed from my own frustration was the wrong approach at times. I apologise to the people and fans that supported me and believed in me. GRM and Boost Mobile have given me a chance and I am committed to give it 100% and do what it takes as a team to win.”
Stanaway drove for Tickford Racing last year, finishing 25th overall, and will replace Tander who is currently without a contract for the 2019 season.
James Golding, who made his debut for the team last year, will continue in 2019 after finishing 22nd overall last year.
“I have a lot of faith in Bieber (James Golding) and although his inaugural year in Supercars was not spectacular he certainly has the potential to be a successful driver, as does Richie,” said team owner Garry Rogers.
“The future of the team is always what is at the foremost of our focus, and this chance to partner with a vibrant youth brand like Boost, who have shown their support of Supercars over the years, whilst developing up-and-coming stars.”
