Mercedes, Audi and BMW on track together for the final time at Jerez
BMW and Audi will be joined by Mercedes-AMG for the last time during the Young Driver Test, taking place at Jerez from Monday until Wednesday at Jerez.
Audi had already announced the presence of WTCR Macau winner Frédéric Vervisch, as well as three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Benoît Tréluyer and World Rallycross driver Andreas Bakkerud, as well as young hopeful Mattia Drudi.
Formula 3 drivers Jonathan Aberdein and Sacha Fenestraz, replacing Ferdinand Habsburg, will also drive for the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer, testing for their new customer team in the DTM, Team WRT.
BMW Motorsport has also confirmed their line-up with Nicky Catsburg, Sheldon van der Linde, Mikkel Jensen and Nick Yelloly, with Austrian Philipp Eng, who completed his DTM debut season in 2018, as their reference driver.
The Bavarian manufacturer will use the 2018-spec car for the Young Driver Test, with Marco Wittmann and Bruno Spengler also present at the wheel of the new Class 1 prototype.
Mercedes-AMG will be at Jerez for a final DTM appearance before departing the series, with works driver Daniel Juncadella acting as a reference for Jake Dennis, Jake Hughes, Thomas Preining and Ferdinand Habsburg, who switched to the Stuttgart-based manufacturer after initially aligning with Audi.
R-Motorsport, that will run the Aston Martin team in the DTM, will not be present at Jerez, as constructors HWA and AF Racing are still in the early stages of the development of the new car.
