BMW confirm Wittmann, Eng, Eriksson, Spengler and Glock for the 2019 DTM
BMW Motorsport has confirmed it will retain five of its six drivers for the 2019 DTM season.
Double champion Marco Wittmann will again lead the Bavarian manufacturer in his seventh DTM season, with countryman Timo Glock also entering his seventh season in the series with BMW.
Canadian Bruno Spengler, who has competed with BMW since its return to the series in 2012, will go into his 15th DTM season.
Philipp Eng and Joel Eriksson, who joined the grid as rookies this season, will also continue in a second year on the grid.
Eng ended his debut season in the top ten in the championship, whilst Eriksson scored his maiden victory at Misano.
BMW Motorsport will have a vacant seat after Augusto Farfus’ departure from the series, and will announce its sixth driver after the Young Driver Tests, taking place next week at Jerez.
Nicky Catsburg, Mikkel Jensen, Nick Yelloly and Sheldon van der Linde will all drive the car before a decision is made on who takes the final place in the line-up.
BMW is yet to announce its chosen customer team for the 2019 season, which will take on two M4 DTMs next year.
