Yvan Muller confirms 2019 WTCR return with Lynk & Co
Yvan Muller has confirmed he will return to fight again for the 2019 World Touring Car Cup title at a post-race press conference in Macau, with the four-time world champion confirming he will race with the new Lynk & Co team next year.
Muller just missed out on the 2018 title by three points, but his new team, technically supported by last year’s WTCC champions Cyan Racing, just won the teams’ title by three points.
49-year-old Muller has said, despite his brief one-year retirement in 2017, he’ll return again in 2019, driving for Lynk & Co, as was reported by TouringCarTimes recently
“In regards to my future, I can now tell you, you saw two weeks’ ago there was the presentation of the new Lynk & Co car in the WTCR next year,” he said. “I retired in 2016 but apparently I’m still fast, and Gabriele (Tarquini) doesn’t want me to retire, so I will be with Lynk & Co next year.”
