Yann Ehrlacher gets grid drop for Rob Huff clash

While no action was taken in respect of the lap eight incident with Gordon Shedden, Münnich Honda driver Yann Ehrlacher has been handed a five-place grid drop for contact with the Sébastien Loeb Racing Volkswagen of Rob Huff at the start of the race, which saw the Briton retire.

Ehrlacher and Huff made contact at the chicane on lap three, with Huff’s Volkswagen retiring from the race shortly after with rear suspension damage.

The stewards have handed Ehrlacher a five-place grid penalty from for the first race tomorrow, which drops him from seventh to 12th, starting behind the YMR Hyundai of Thed Björk.

Ehrlacher’s fourth-place grid spot for Race 3 is unaffected, as long as he starts Race 2.
