Kevin Ceccon bags more points for Mulsanne Alfa Romeo at Wuhan

Kevin Ceccon has equalled his best result with Team Mulsanne at Wuhan after finishing sixth, matching his Race 3 finish from the Slovakiaring three months’ ago.

The Italian, who was drafted into replace Gianni Morbidelli mid-season, has now scored 20 points, one more than team-mate Fabrizio Giovanardi’s full year score in three events, and was involved in a number of battles during today’s race with DG Sport’s Aurélien Comte and the Comtoyou Racing Audi of Nathanael Berthon.

“I think it’s a great result for Alfa Romeo,” said Ceccon to TouringCarTimes.

“We had a big fight with Aurélien and Nathanael Berthon as well. It was a confusing first lap, there was a little bit of touring car contact going on, but it was a good race.

“What makes me more proud today was qualifying, as we qualified P8, which is the first top ten ever for Alfa Romeo, for the team and for me.

“We started eighth and finished sixth and recovered two places, which is more points in the championship for me and the team, so it’s been a very productive day for us, so let’s see tomorrow and what it brings. I think we have another good chance to score points.”
